Diaspora, an alternative networking site will present and openly challenging Facebook. This site will be launched on 15 September. Diaspora claimed to have advantages in terms of control or privacy of personal information users. This is one Facebook weakness that has been discussed widely around July.
When the number of users complained about Mark Zuckerberg made the site their personal data exposed to the public and used for various types of offerings, such as credit cards, insurance and tourism. Whereas users confessed to never give personal information to anyone.
Diaspora is a social network created by four students from New York. Initially, Ilya, Raphael, and Daniel Maxwell, the four students were hoping to get money around U.S. $ 10,000 to finance the manufacture of these sites. Fundraising campaign that was published and well received up to get the money of U.S. $ 200,642 of the almost 6500 investors-including, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
According to them, the Diaspora will be a new open-source for those who want to leave their old ‘home’ (Facebook).
