Prepare Impressions “Update Status”, Gmail Challenge Facebook

Google intends to challenge Facebook by launching a new feature that enables Gmail users to easily view and manage the details of the status update. This new module will be introduced in early February. Module is expected to show the flow of updates from people who are connected with a Gmail user. “This stream will include the shared content and user used by YouTube and Picasa. However, it is uncertain whether that feature will be announced in coming days,” writes Jessica E Vascellaro to the WSJ.

It is very clear that Google is trying to make the users switch to Gmail as to where they could see what was happening with her friends. However, whether Internet users will want to combine e-mail by looking at the content of his friends, this is still not clear. Vascellaro said, Google has tried to turn Gmail into “more than just e-mail service” for years. He added that Google’s latest idea of sticking just a week after Facebook introduced a new design.

One analyst speculated that the social networking sites are growing rapidly can displace Google as the leader of the world news reader. “Facebook is a known interface systems and the like hundreds of millions of people. Newsfeed model was popularized by Facebook and so trigger the desire for users to subscription news that it will be more easily used than making people use something new.

Special messages can also post on directly to the reader. Facebook is not the only channel that is ‘publish and subscribe’, but rather a communication opportunity wider than the offer specialized RSS readers. It makes more sense for users and more attractive for publishers.”

The Google Earth Now Shows Rain and Snow in “Real Time”

The latest version of Google 3D map applications, Google Earth, currently has the ability to describe the rain and snow in real time on the part of certain countries in the world. To view them, users must turn on the cloud layer, and zoom on locations where there is snow, and rainfall.

Google Earth will display the rain and snow only on North American and European countries only, to see for sure that this feature can now be used, then we should turn on layer radar. Because Google Earth is able to perform the rain and snow, in real-time, these features can actually be useful as a visualization of what the weather just as certain place. Unfortunately, this feature can only be used to see some states only, if the user can see the whole world, then Google Earth will be very enjoyable.
